Welcome to the World of Chronicles Rabbitry

What began with rabbits, breeding and years of experience eventually grew into something a little bigger. In October 2026, Chronicles Rabbitry was joined by an online shop – but the story began much earlier.

It all began with rabbits

Chronicles Rabbitry is more than just an online shop, and selling was never where it all began. First came the rabbits – those wonderful little furry friends who were part of my entire childhood and teenage years. The hobby followed me well into adulthood and gradually became something more than a hobby. It became a way of life.

I have been breeding rabbits since 2003, and over the years, breeding, shows, genetics, nutrition and rabbit welfare have drawn me deeper and deeper into this world. When rabbits have been part of your life for this long, the way you look at products made for them changes too. What do I want to give my own rabbits? What actually works in everyday life? What is missing from the Finnish market? And why can you find an absolutely wonderful product elsewhere in Europe, but not here?

At some point, these questions began to grow into the idea of an online shop of my own.

The Shop I Wanted to Find

From the very beginning, Chronicles Rabbitry Shop has been built around one simple idea: I want to offer products that I would happily buy for my own rabbits too. That’s why the selection isn’t built simply around what can be sold for rabbits. I want to find products that genuinely have a place in a rabbit’s everyday life – quality nutrition, natural treats, enrichment, care products and supplies where practicality and beautiful design can go hand in hand.

Some of the products come from carefully selected manufacturers and suppliers, while others are made here at Chronicles Rabbitry. With our own products, it has always been important to me to know exactly what is inside the package and where it came from. For our feed-related operations, Chronicles Rabbitry has its own quality control and traceability system, allowing incoming batches of raw materials, packing batches and finished products to be traced and linked to one another.

It may not be the most visible part of the online shop. But to me, it is one of the most important.

From Little Pylkönmäki to the World

Chronicles Rabbitry is based in Pylkönmäki, Central Finland. This is where the rabbits live, where the breeding takes place, and now also where the online shop’s storage and packing facilities are located.

Building the online shop has involved much more than simply adding products to a website. Behind the scenes, there has been searching for suppliers, placing orders, choosing packaging materials, designing labels, setting up the packing facilities, learning the requirements of the feed sector – and quite a few late nights spent working on the website.

But on 1 October 2026, the shop finally opened. It feels like a huge step and, at the same time, only the starting line.

More Than an Online Shop

Chronicles Rabbitry is not becoming just an online shop, though. Breeding will continue alongside everything else, and the future is also being built around entirely new projects.

One of them is CR Registry – a registry service designed for rabbits, bringing information such as pedigrees, health and show records, as well as useful breeding information, together in one place.

Alongside it, CR Family is taking shape – Chronicles Rabbitry’s own community for rabbit owners. CR Family brings together content, benefits and services, while offering a way to be part of the Chronicles Rabbitry world beyond simply shopping at the online shop.

In the end, the idea behind it all is the same as with the online shop: what does the rabbit world need that could be done better? Not everything will be built at once. But the direction is clear.

And That’s Why This Blog Was Born

I want the Chronicles Rabbitry website to offer more than just products.

This blog will explore rabbits from many different perspectives: nutrition, welfare and enrichment, breeding, genetics and shows. From time to time, we’ll take a look behind the scenes of the online shop and the rabbitry, explore products a little more deeply, and follow where Chronicles Rabbitry grows next.

More than twenty years with rabbits has taught me an incredible amount – and at the same time, one thing has become very clear: there is always more to learn.

That’s why this blog is not meant to be a place where I tell you there is only one right way to care for rabbits. Instead, I want it to be a place where we can share knowledge, experiences and ideas, and take a closer look at why we do things the way we do.

The story of Chronicles Rabbitry already spans more than twenty years – but this chapter is only just beginning.
